Welcome to the FINALLY FRIDAY series, a weekly list of my favorite decor, styles, online finds, interesting things you might be interested in, sales, new and upcoming & more.
This week has been a whirlwind for us as we’re working on the house, the store, and getting ready for the holiday rush (Black Friday + Small Business Saturday!) with fun new projects and machinery. I’m so proud of myself for finishing my pillow covers and the living room curtains which add so much drama and finishing to the space), and starting the vestibule/entry Phase 1 refresh.
FINALLY FRIDAY!
- If you’re following me on Instagram you’ve noticed a new challenge I started and a surge of activity. My goal is to complete as many projects in the house – no matter how big or how small – before the end of the year. I’m challenging myself to work on a project every day, even for 20 minutes, and to use materials I currently have. Many of these #dailydiychallenges will not be the final style for the room and are more of “refreshes” to improve the space. I believe all spaces have room for improvement and to excel in functionality.
- If you’re not aware, cane is back. Cane chairs, cane dressers, beautiful cane details in classic furniture. I was on Pinterest (learn my best tips for pining here) and came across this stunning DIY IKEA hack that transforms a simple BILLY bookcase into a statement piece. What do you think? Is cane webbing making a comeback?
- If you have Netflix here are some shows I’m currently watching and obsessed with: Rhythm & Flow, Interior Design Masters (if you’re really into it try Interior Design Challenge which has more stylists than designers), Schitt’s Creek, Dead to Me (addicting and dark comedy), The Hook-Up Plan, The Laundromat and Prank Encounters. If you’re a historical drama nerd like me, The Crown season 3 returns on November 17th.
- It’s November 1st! I’ve been craving holiday decor for weeks now, which is extremely unusual for me. Last year our living room flanked our fireplace but this year I want to find a new location – maybe right in the bay window? Is it too early to decorate for Christmas? When do you start the Xmas bonanza?
- Quickly update any bedside table, mantle, dining table, or shelf with fresh fall clippings. We have a small tree outside of our house that *just* started turning colors and makes for a perfect nightstand addition. Best part: leaves are free. Please do not cut/trim from private spaces.
- Tortoise is making a comeback and I’m here for it! A few months ago I purchased these tortoise hoop earrings and get compliments every time I wear them. I also love these and another hoop pair.
- We’ll be starting the kitchen soon and my biggest concern is making sure we use every square foot well. I purchased three of each of these storage containers (small and large) to make sure I like them and so far they have been winners for dry goods. The coffee canister is sized for a 12oz bag and has kept our fresh ground lasting longer. Added bonus: you can also write on the canister to label it: tea, whole beans, ground.
- Target is having a great furniture sale: up to 40% off select pieces. This neutral accent chair, wood and cane console, simple side table, and mid-century coffee table and some of my picks. Check out the sale and let me know if you find any gems!
Let me know what you’re watching, what you love, what you will pass on/skip, and anything else I missed this week. Enjoy the weekend and see you next week when it’s FINALLY FRIDAY!

wow i had NO idea they sold cane webbing rolls! Now I’m on a mission to see what I can diy and transform!
I’ve also been obsessed with Rhythm and Flow. I haven’t finished it yet but of course the internet it littered with spoilers so I’ve seen who has won.
Can’t wait for more ‘Finally Friday’ 🙂

I’m so excited for this series and for being a bit more casual on Fridays. And if you so upcycle a piece with cane webbing, please share it with me. I’m thinking of adding caning to a credenza or storage piece for my offfice #fingerscrossed!
